“Save the Slugs”

by Zachary Warble

The slugs outside the therapist’s office

were doing the best they could in the rain.

They came out onto the tops of stepping stones

trying not to drown.

All the people with big problems and questions about death

came flooding in thru the thunder and smashed a dozen

of the things.

Everyone went home glistening with hope

full on

wet roads

hmms and understanding.
